Venezuela Tourist Attraction

Who does not like tourism? Venezuela has been declared officially one of the world’s most ecologically diverse countries in the world.

They have South America’s largest lake, the highest waterfall, and various natural monuments. They have a world class coastline, 72 islands in the Caribbean Sea, and suitable weather for every type of person. Despite this, the lack of investment and maintenance has damaged the tourism infrastructure. Stemming from currency overvaluation and political strife, tourism has suffered. Tourism has suffered because of Hugo Chavez’s bully tactics and messed up priorities. Naturally, Venezuela is a godsend.

Venezuela’s political executives have been trying to ignite tourism. They have tossed in investment incentives, tax rebates, and tried to maintain the infrastructure. The tourism law, passed in 1998, dictates all tourism movements.
“It offers tax incentives such as fiscal credit on new investment, excluding land; exemption from corporate assets tax; and customs tariff exemptions for ships, aircraft and hotel equipment” derived by EIU.

Ecotourism and adventure tourism are being buffered for the benefit of the country’s national parks. They also want outsiders to visit indigenous areas. These regions were teeming with tourists but with the terrible rise of Hugo Chavez, tourism has declined dramatically. The strange exchange rate issues, political concerns, Chavez’s anti US innuendo, have only hurt his supposed beloved country.

Natural disasters have not helped out this country’s tourism prospects either. Mudslides have damaged some beaches but this was only a tiny sliver of the coastline. But pictures speak a thousand words. Venezuela has seen about an 8% decline in tourism. Is that a lot? It is 54,000 jobs gone. You be the scorekeeper on that one.
