The horrendous government of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is thinking about a dog. This breed is dog is called Nevado.

Is Chavez actually doing something altruistic? This dog is on the brink of extinction. This dog was a friend of Simon Bolivar throughout his war of independence. A new dog family will be six dogs living on the mountain that divides the capital of Caracas and the Caribbean Sea. A few weeks ago, two Mucuchi males and four females of Nevado’s breed were escorted by cable railway to El Avila’s mountain peak. This tipping point rises above Caracas. The temperature is similar to these dog’s native Andes Mountains.

The epiphany that Walter Demendoza had was to do exactly this, save this breed. He is the president of the Nevado Foundation or Funev. He manufactured a letter and sent it to the socialist regime. It was accepted and supported.

This breed was formed after the first colonizers stepped foot in Venezuela. They interbred their own loving pets, from the Pyrenees, with the local dogs. This breed may not have been nature’s own but the adventures said this dog was in a league of its own.

"Nevado accompanied him throughout the campaign, was in the thick of the fighting in several countries and often saved his life," Demendoza pronounced.

The Indians had an influential leader named Tinjaca. Tinjaca was on the side of the liberators. Tinjaca and Nevado were napped by Spanish soldiers who did not destroy them because they thought they could use this dog to trick and seduce the Libertator.

Despite these attempts, the dog and Indian escaped to continue the fight with Bolivar.

Nevado is depicted in many historical art works. His famous statue is adjacent to Tinjaca in Mucuchies.

Nevado met his doom when he was struck by a lance. This was the battle of Carabobo on July 21st, 1821. This was when Venezuela finally kicked off the Spanish yoke.
