Guyana is a state that is located on the north coast of Southern America. As it is lies close to the equator, the city experiences tropical climate all over the year. |
The temperatures usually do not vary and remain almost the same throughout the year. Though, there are two wet seasons witnessed by the people here that is from April to August and December to February.Although the temperatures never go too high, humidity and heat still persists in the city. Sea breezes are a source of relief for the coast which is the result of the northeast trade winds during the afternoon and midday. Lying in the southern part of Caribbean hurricanes, Guyana has a warm and humid equatorial climate followed by extreme rainfall as well as limited seasonal differences.
The temperature in the Georgetown remains invariable with an average of 24°C (low) and 32°C(high) during the month of July. On the other hand, the cool temperature in the month of February goes up to 29°C to 23°C. The percentage of humidity comes out to be 70 percent on an average. The locations which are at a distance from oceans moderating influence witnesses’ variations in temperature on daily basis. In these areas, the percentage of humidity is lower that is 60 percent.
Heavy rainfall takes place in the northwest part and light rainfall is experienced in interior regions and southeastern region. Last but not the least; the most appropriate of visiting Guyana is during the dry months of August & October and mid January and April.
