Bogota is a great tourist spot famous for art galleries, botanical gardens, churches, museums, planetarium, theaters and the bull fighting arena called the Plaza de Toros de Santamaria.
Some of the attractions of San Andres are the beaches, La Loma – the highest point in the island and the historical and cultural area called San Luis
Medellin, which is called the City of Eternal Spring has the famous textile industry and is the famous painter Fernando Botero’s birthplace. The city has a great collection of the master painter’s works.
Cartagena, also called the Heroic City is replete with skyscrapers and colonial architecture. The city offers exclusive experience of different festivals and hotels/restaurants.
Santa Marta offers beautiful beaches and snowy mountains. Popayan is Colombia’s religious center and holds one of the largest Easter festivals in the whole world. You may also visit Pereira, famous for Matecana Zoo and “Boliver naked”. The National Park of “Los Nevados” also lies close by. Barranquilla is world famous for the Carnival which is held every year in February.
Other famous places include Isla Gorgona – the earlier prison island, Cocuy National Park, and Amacayacu National Park to name a few.
