History Of The Ice Hotel In Quebec

The Ice Hotel in Quebec is a very popular tourist destination, and it has been featured as a wonder several times in the National Geographic and the Smithsonian. It also has been rated as the top 50 places to visit in the entire world. Quebec’s Ice Hotel happens to be the only one of its kind in North America.

The Ice Hotel of Quebec is completely made of ice. The beds and the interiors of the hotel are crafted out of ice. It took nearly 15000 tons of snow and ice to make the entire hotel. It also has an ice chapel connected to it. Many couples come here to get married in the chapel and celebrate their wedding in the hotel premises. The hotel is popular with honeymoon couples, and many people flock here from the warmer climates. Everything in the hotel is made of ice. For example, the ice lounge serves drinks in glasses made of ice. Also, the hotel allows you take an ice glass as souvenir along with you.

However, the hotel has a peculiar feature of having common toilets and common washrooms. The hotel management says that is primarily because of ecological reasons.

The hotel has intrigued several people to come and check out it out to see how it was made. As per the hotel owners, it took 3 full years to construct the Ice Hotel, and in the end it turned out better than they expected. In fact, you can call it a masterpiece.

Although there are many other hotels across the world that can be considered off beat and different from regular hotels, the Ice Hotel tops the list because of its exquisite architecture and uniqueness.
