The six provinces include Al-Kuwayt, Al-Frwaniyah, Hawalli, Al-Ahmadi, Al-Jahrah and Mubarak Al-Kabir. Al-Kuwayt or Kuwait City is the capital city of Kuwait and is the most important city here. It is the center of economics, business and politics. The Kuwaiti parliament, government offices, banks, corporation headquarters etc are located here. Areas surrounding Kuwait City include Abdullah Al Salem, Farwaniya, Salwa , Qurtoba, Al-Nuzha, Hawalli, Khaitan and so on. Kuwait city has an arid climate with hot summers and cool winters. Jahrah is another important city of Kuwait. This city consists of agricultural land and oases. The outskirts of Al Jahrah witnessed a heavy shootout during the Gulf war. Today the city is famed for its agriculture, camel markets and so on. Shuwaikh is an industrial city in Kuwait. It is contains much of Kuwaits prots and offices. This city is also famed for its Friday markets.

There are several items like clothes, accessories, antiques, furniture, carpets, plants etc on sale at these markets. Slamiya is a popular residential city in Kuwait. It is located close to Kuwait City. It has several residential areas and commercial centers. Salmiya Center is the popular shopping area in Salmiya. It has several of the traditional souk bazaars selling gold and pearls alongside retail outlet of wolrd popular brands. Several educational institutions like the American University, Indian Community School, Indian English Academy School etc are located at Salmiya.
