Weimar became Republic after the World War II. The timeline for Weimar Republic ended when Hitler established the Third Reich, and declared his dictatorship. Here is a timeline of major events in the history of Weimar Republic.

The Weimar Republic, however, lasted from 1919 to 1933, only until Hitler declared the Third Reich. The Weimar Republic is considered as the Second Reich. It was named after the city of Weimar as the national assembly was convened here. It was formed with great difficulty and after several tensions. However, it eventually fell with the rise of the Nazi party. Hitler completely handicapped the democratic system by destroying all its mechanisms. He succeeded in eventually replacing it with Nazi ideals and beliefs.

Actually because of the Weimar Republic, one can say that Germany was briefly democratic from 1918 to 1933. Before 1918, it was military rule in Germany that existed, and after 1933, it was purely under the control of Hitler and Nazi Party.
