Even otherwise, South Africa is one of the most visited places by tourists for wildlife as well as adventure tourism.
There are several jobs available in tourism sector in hotels, restaurants and resorts. People who have experience in cooking various cuisines, specialty cuisines, managers, housekeeping services and management services are all in great demand presently in this country. Some of the cities that are on a hiring spree are Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg along with many other towns and cities. With FIFA World Cup around the corner, there will be a lot of temporary jobs available for sure. However, since the tourism industry is growing tremendously, some professionals may be allowed to retain their jobs.
The problem in South Africa was never unemployment but under-employment due to the lack of skilled labor. People from other countries who have not been finding jobs in travel and tourism sector can most certainly try their luck in this country.
Even travel-related jobs like pilots and transport drivers can try their luck as there is a dire need for such personnel here. People from countries like India, China and Philippines are preferred to work here. Much of the lack of opportunities in South Africa is just hype.
