The Egyptian history is rich and interesting. The pyramids have been named as some of the most interesting and puzzling world wonders. Construction of pyramids was a very important activity in the ancient Egyptian kingdoms. Royal family engineers carried out the construction of these pyramids. |
One of the most famous architects is Imhotep. Imhotep designed the Djoser pyramid and its surrounding. This pyramid is very popular and still remains as one of the most significant achievements of this architect.
Building the pyramids involved assembly of building material, digging construction materials like stones. The process also included carving these building stone blocks and refining them into smooth building stones. Slaves carried out these activities. Egypt is famous for buying slaves from Asia and Africa. It is also famous for capturing Israelites and subjecting them to slavery. Slaves were used to construct the pyramids. These slaves though independent were disciplined people. They did this construction work out of will not coercion.
Slaves were not subjects in Egypt. They were free men who had lesser rights. Some slaves were even freed to serve as free men of Egypt. Movie productions especially Hollywood production project the Egyptians slavery as hard labor, brutality and barbarianism attitudes towards these slaves. It is alleged that, slaves were used to turn heavy construction material used in the construction of pyramids in Egypt. Slaves are credited with building Egyptian pyramids including the ancient pyramids of Giza outside the famous city of Cairo, which is still the capital city of Egypt.
