According to the religion of ancient Egypt, Ra was a responsible god. Every day, he would traverse the skies of Egypt. He would check on every part of Egypt on his boat with his sun-disc. The history of Egyptian religion explains that, Ra stood for the rising sun. Egyptians believed that, Ra was instrumental for every sunrise and sundown. He is said to also have stood for life, being reborn, children and fertility, health, virility and a lot more to do with life.

The pharaoh then took the title ‘son of Ra.’ this became tradition and it is alleged to have ended along the Egypt’s ancient history. However, Ra was combined with the god Amon and Horakte. As such, Ra became Amon Ra and Ra- Horakhte. He got married to a wife called Ret. It is believed that all tears were created from the tears of Re the sun god.
